The biggest challenge right now
Maw Goon Thit Migrant Learning Center
We provide education to migrant and displaced children who have almost no access to formal schooling. Despite huge challenges, our students show up every day — full of determination and hope.
Classes continue every day inside our fragile bamboo and tin classrooms — because learning cannot wait.
Old tin sheets and bamboo supports — when the rain pours, water drips through the gaps and disrupts every lesson.
Strong winds and heavy rain can easily damage this structure — putting children’s education at risk.
Even with so little, our students speak up, discuss, and lead — showing how deeply they value this chance to learn.
The school entrance is 90 cm (about 3 feet) lower than the road. During heavy rain, water flows straight in and floods the learning space.
Why Your Help Matters So Much
With your support we can:
- Replace leaking roofs with strong, weatherproof materials
- Raise the ground level so water no longer floods the classrooms
- Build safer, more permanent learning spaces for these children
