Building Renovation & Expansion Project
Safe Classrooms for Migrant Children
Who We Are
Maw Goon Thit Migrant Learning Center is a community-based school run by volunteer teachers since 2022, providing free education to migrant and displaced Myanmar children affected by conflict.
- 140 students currently enrolled
- Expanding to 150 students
- From primary to upper secondary (including GED preparation)
- Relocated 6 times in 4 years, but learning has never stopped
The Problem
Our current learning spaces are:
- Overcrowded
- Structurally weak
- Not safe during rain and heat
Without renovation and new classrooms, students cannot learn effectively.
The Solution
We will:
- 🏫 Renovate the existing building → create 3 classrooms + 1 office
- 🏗️ Build new classrooms → total 12 safe classrooms
- 💡 Install lighting, fans, ventilation, and drainage
This will provide a safe learning environment for 150 migrant children.
Project Timeline
- March – Renovation & site preparation
- April – Classroom construction & electrical installation
- May – Students move into safe classrooms
Budget Summary
- Renovation Phase → 54,000 THB
- New Classrooms → 246,000 THB
A detailed budget and financial reporting system are available.
